MINDSET by Carol Dweck Reveiw

In her book “Mindset: The New Psychology of Success”, Carol Dweck demonstrates how our perceptions of our talents and abilities can significantly impact our success in a different realm of our lives.

As per Carol, there are two kinds of people. People with a fixed mindset & people with a growth mindset

Fixed mindset people are less likely to flourish than those with a growth mindset, who believe that abilities can be developed.

Most of the time, they act superficially. They tend to avoid challenges because think they may/will fail. They give up easily because they think setbacks will may their self-image.

They regard hard work and effort as a waste because they believe they are either talented enough or not. There is no scope of improvement for them. Life is quite rigid.

Whereas for people with a growth mindset, their intelligence is malleable (can be changed/ improved). They regard their mind as something that can be developed. They have a strong desire to learn. They welcome challenges, persevere in the face of setbacks, and see hard work as an opportunity to improve.
